The IRIS Digital Media Development Environment contains
libraries, headers, and example source code which allow you
write programs to take advantage of the digital media
capabilities of your Silicon Graphics workstation. It
includes the following APIs:
Digital Media Library / Compression Library
Audio Library
MIDI Library
Video Library
Audio File Library
Movie Library
CD Audio Library
DAT Audio Library
Note: The IRIS Digital Media Development Environment was
previously sold as an option product under the names
"IRIS Media Libraries" and "Digital Media Development
Option". Starting with the IRIX 5.3 release, the IRIS
Digital Media Development Environment is now included
with the standard IRIS Development Option software
package.
Note: Compression Library developers who are writing
applications for use with the Cosmo Compress JPEG
option should refer to the release notes Cosmo
Compress for additional information specific to that
product.
Note: Starting with IRIX 6.3, support for QuickTime files
is included with the movie library and it is no
longer necessary to purchase it separately.
Note: Starting with IRIX 6.3, MPEG-1 audio/video encoding
and Cinepakr Video encoding is bundled with the
system and no longer requires a runtime license from
SGI.
Note: Packaged with your software is a separate sheet that
contains the Software License Agreement. This
software is provided to you solely under the terms
and conditions of the Software License Agreement.
Please take a few moments to review the Agreement.
